The role of Spiral Wound Gasket ?

2022-07-26
Metal spiral wound gaskets can be made of flexible graphite, asbestos, PTFE and other stainless steel, copper, carbon steel and other metal materials. Working temperature: -200~650℃, working pressure: 3.5MPa, main use: suitable for pumps, valves, heat exchangers and pipes, flanges, valves, pump inlets and outlets, heat exchangers, reaction towers, query holes, hand Holes, high temperature, high pressure steam, oil and gas, solvent, gas, heat transfer medium, etc. are one of the important parts of flange sealing.

Application range of spiral wound gaskets: sealing of flange joints such as pipelines, valves, pressure vessels, condensers, heat exchangers, towers, manholes, hand holes, etc. in petroleum, chemical, metallurgy, electric power, shipbuilding, machinery and other industries. The structure density of the metal coiled gasket can be manufactured according to different locking force requirements. The composite gasket that is coated with a metal sheet by a specific cold working process is usually divided into two types: flat coating and corrugated coating according to the section of the gasket.

It is a traditional sealing gasket, suitable for heat exchangers, pressure vessels, pumps, valves and flange surface sealing, but the resilience is limited, and the flange surface needs to be flat and the tightening force is high to achieve good results. According to different materials, it can be combined into 304 stainless steel coated asbestos coated gaskets, stainless steel coated graphite coated gaskets and other methods. It can withstand high temperature, high pressure and adapt to ultra-low temperature or vacuum conditions. It is one of the important components of seals.
